MANOLIS ANDRONIKOS

Zongolopoulos 1990

The reaction comes from the simple fact that Zongolopoulos' work is not iconic. In other words, his work does not depict something that we can recognize and therefore does not offer the satisfaction that we can understand it. How could any one explain that there are uniconic artworks respectively remarkable and descriptive to the iconic artworks? And how to explain that, nowadays, the most notable sculpting monuments are not iconic?
