In reviewing the work of Zongolopoulos in its various phases up to the present, we observe the consequence of his efforts to dominate "structural" grids of a cubist - constructivist character. In this play of light and shade there is a stretching and stressing of the light source to good effect and a calculation of its results, which the artist brings to a head in the photo-kinetic constructions on exhibit at the Hellenic - American Union.

The fact that in his abstract work Zongolopoulos creates ties with reality (at least in certain cases), giving pieces titles like "Nocturne", "Byzantine", "From a window", shows the romantic perception which also characterised him in the past.
