1927 The first participation in an exhibition in ''Art Asylum"

Takes part in a group exhibition that takes place in the home of the scholar Nikos Velmos, the so called ''Art Asylum". The exhibition was organized for charity.


1933 (12/06/1933) Third Exhibition of the group "Omas techni" (Art  group)

Zongolopoulos in December 1933 exhibits for the first time works in a group exhibition of Art Group. This is the third group exhibition of Art group in which the sculptor participates with two plaster works, a nude and a bust. In co-exhibitors are also included his friends Dimitris Vitsoris, Agenor Asteriadis, Spyros Vassiliou and Nikos Hadjikyriakos - Gikas.

1935 (14-19 / 04/1935) Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture, Stratigopoulou Art Gallery

Participates in a group exhibition at the Stratigopoulou Art Gallery along with Agenor Asteriadis, Spyros Vassiliou, Dimitris Vitsoris and Costis Papachristopoulos. Zongolopoulos presents portraits, including those of Dimitris Vitsoris and Errikos Frantziskakis. This exhibition in many Zongolopoulos' s curriculum vitae is listed as a solo exhibition, probably due to its importance in the beginning of the artistic course of the sculptor.

1936 (29/02-18/03/1936) Fourth Exhibition of the group "Omas techni" (Art  group)

Participates in the fourth group exhibition of the Art group which takes place in Athens at the "Artists Hall Atelier" exhibiting a marble portrait and a nude.

1936 (17 / 05-01 / 06/1936)  Exhibition of the group "Omas techni" (Art  group) in Sofia

Participates in another group exhibition with the Art group in Sofia. This time he exhibits at the "Art Gallery Preslaf" in Sofia portraits, a seated nude and a girl's head. Along with him they also exhibit works Vitsoris, Vassiliou, Asteriadis, Sochos and Tsouchlos.


1936 "Greek artists Exhibition" in Vienna

With the group exhibition of Art group in August 1936 Zongolopoulos exhibits at the "Arnaud Gallery" in Vienna. Among the co-exhibitors are Galanis and Vitsoris.

 

1937 (opening 05.17.1937) F Exhibition of the group "Omas techni" (Art  group)

With the group exhibition of Art group Zongolopoulos exhibits at the Thessaloniki International Trade Fair a marble girl's head and bronze portraits of painters Dimitris (Mimis) Vitsoris and Errikos Frantziskakis. Among the 33 exhibitors are and his wife Helen Paschalidou - Zongolopoulou.

1937 (28/12/1937) Group exhibition in "Nina Rok Gallery"

Participates in a group exhibition in the "Nina Rok Gallery" in Athens along with Anagnostopoulos, Vassiliou, Vitsoris, Karantinos, Pappas and his wife Helen Paschalidou - Zongolopoulou.

1937 "Greek artists Exhibition" in Vienna

Participates in a group exhibition of Greek artists in Vienna where a work of him is purchased.

 

1938 "First Panhellenic artistic Exhibition of Zappion"

Participates in the first National Art Exhibition at the Zappion megaron in Athens along with 31 sculptors, among whom are Dimitriadis, Sochos, Apartis, Falireas and Perantinos. During the exhibition a work is purchased.


1940 (12-31 / 01/1940) VII Exhibition of the group "Omas techni" (Art  group)

In January 1940 he participates in the seventh group exhibition of the Art groupwhich takes place in the hall of the "House of Letters and Arts" in Athens, exhibiting among other works the sculpture "Head of Mrs. MK". Along with him they also exhibit works Vassiliou, Asteriadis, Economidou and his wife Helen Paschalidou - Zongolopoulou.

 

1940 Venice Biennale

He takes place for the first time at the Venice Biennale. Along with him they exhibit works Asteriadis, Mitarakis, Vitsoris, Papachristopoulos, Raftopoulou, Papadimitriou, Korogiannakis, Yannoukakis. Zongolopoulos exhibits the work "Girl's head" with which he had taken part in the group exhibition of Art group in the same year.

 

1946 Exhibitions at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, the Italian Institute and the French Institute

Zongolopoulos participates in the "Greek Art Exhibition" which takes place at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, during which the Swedish ambassador buys his work. The same year he takes part in the exhibition of artists - members of the Greek-Union at the French Institute in Athens and in an exhibition at Casa d 'Italia in Athens.

 

1947 Cairo Biennale

Takes part in the Cairo Biennale.

1948 (5-25 / 10/1948) Solo exhibition in "Zachariou Gallery"

The first solo exhibition of Zongolopoulos with sculptures and paintings takes place in "Zachariou Gallery" in Athens in October 1948. He exhibits 16 sculptures, oil paintings and watercolors. Among the works presented are "Karaiskakis equestrian"," Ariadne "," Girl lying on red stone","A girl's head", a model for the Memorial of Mykonos, "Monument for the sea workers", "Loustraki seated", "The girl with the pink color".

1948 (31 / 10-31 / 12/1948) "Panhellenic (national) Art Exhibition"

Participates in the National Art Exhibition at the Zappion where he is distinguished with the second prize among 330 artists who are taking part in the exhibition. The sculpture "Ariadne" or "Memorial for the Fallen of St. George" that Zongolopoulos exhibits at the time is the sculpture for which he was awarded the silver medal among 755 works, while the first prize is not awarded to any artist.

1949 (October-November) "Exhibition of contemporary Greek art"

Participates in an exhibition of contemporary Greek art at Zappion. In the same exhibition also exhibit their works Anagnostopoulou, Apartis, Asteriadis, Vassiliou, Vasilikiotis, Gounaropoulos, Kapralos, Moralis, Sochos, Gikas.

1950 (05/14/1950) First group exhibition of the group "Stathmi"

Participates in the first exhibition of "Stathmi" along with Vassiliou, Apergis, Zachariou, Eleftheriadis and Karantinos.

 

1952 (04/11/1952) "Fourth Panhellenic (national) Exhibition of Fine Arts"

Participates in the fourth National Art Exhibition at the Zappion Megaron in Athens. Among the participants are Helen Zongolopoulou, George Vakalo, Thanassis Apartis and Achilleas Aperghis.


1953
"Άγνωστος Πολιτικός Κρατούμενος", Tate Gallery

Συμμετέχει στον διαγωνισμό για το "Μνημειο στον άγνωστο πολιτικό κρατούμενο" στην "Tate Gallery" στο Λονδίνο.

1953 "Unknown Political Prisoner", Tate Gallery

Participates in the international competition for the "Monument to the unknown political prisoner" in "Tate Gallery" in London.
1954 (06 / 01-21 / 01/1954) Group exhibition in Belgrade

Participates in a group exhibition in Belgrade in "State gallery Mali Kalomegdan" along with Asteriadis, Spyropoulos, Sochos, Tombros, Gikas.

1955 (August) Group exhibition in Alexandria

Participates in a group exhibition in Alexandria, Egypt. Among the participating artists are his wife Helen Zongolopoulou.

1956 ([16 or 19] / 06/1956), Venice Biennale

Participates in the 28th Venice Biennale with four anthropocentric works entitled "Composizione su un motivo dramatico" (Composition for a dramatic theme), "Bozzetto per un cavallo" (Model for a horse), "Sorriso" (Smile) and Nudo (Nude).

 

1957 (23/09/1957) Sao Paulo Biennale

Participates in the Sao Paulo Biennale exhibitng the sculptures "Prometheus", "Night", "Poet", "Poseidon" and "Bird".

 

1958 (10 or 19 / 06-15 or 07/30/1958) Group exhibition in "Kouros Gallery" and "Zygos Gallery"

Participates in a group exhibition which takes part in "Kouros Gallery" along with Engonopoulos, Tsarouchis, Kaniaris and others presenting sculptures and paintings. The same year participates in the "Summer Salon of new artists" in "Zygos Gallery".

 

1958 Tour for 12 months in the U.S. for a group exhibition

Participates in a group exhibition along with other twelve artists who exhibit abstract paintings in the United States for one year. Among the artists are Nikos Hadjikyriakos - Gikas, Yannis Gaitis, Basil Kaniaris and his wife Helen Zongolopoulou.

 

1958 Group exhibition at the French Institute

Participates in a group exhibition at the French Institute presenting 26 works.
