The Gerovassiliou Estate in Epanomi, Thessaloniki, has welcomed a landmark sculpture to its collection—an iconic piece for the public spaces of Thessaloniki. This is the sculpture “Cor-ten”widely recognized as a symbol of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), standing 3 meters tall. “Cor-ten” The original “Cor-ten” sculpture was installed in 1966 at the northern entrance of the Thessaloniki International Fair at a height of 18 meters.
The new acquisition has been placed facing George Zongolopoulos’ sculpture “Cycladic,” located at the Vineyard Theater. This artwork references the Cycladic island complex and the inner pendulums resembling small boats that were used for transport between the islands. When a northern breeze blows, they produce sounds in various notes.
