Mission and Objectives
The George Zongolopoulos Foundation is a non-profit public benefit organization established in Athens in February 2004 by sculptor George Zongolopoulos, with its legal incorporation approved one year later. The Foundation holds all artworks by the artist that have not been lawfully donated, along with reproduction rights to his oeuvre. It is governed by a six-member Board of Directors.
Objectives of the Foundation:
1. To collect, exhibit, promote, and study the oeuvre of its founder, George Zongolopoulos.
2. To support individuals (in Greece or abroad) engaged in the study, preservation, and promotion of his work through all appropriate means, both nationally and internationally.
3. To showcase Greek painting and sculpture broadly, through curated periodic exhibitions.
4. To organize artistic events that cultivate public appreciation and dissemination of the Fine Arts.
5. To acquire works by the founder through purchases or donations.
6. To encourage emerging sculptors by awarding financial grants to graduates of the School of Fine Arts.
