The Georgios Zongolopoulos Foundation participates in the exhibition with a rare early work by Giorgos Zongolopoulos, the Equestrian Statue of Georgios Karaiskakis.
This is a rare sculpture from the collection of the Georgios Zongolopoulos Foundation, an early work of Giorgos Zongolopoulos, whose form survives today as a wax model and is preserved in the Foundation’s collection.
The work was first exhibited in 2021. It is Giorgos Zongolopoulos’ proposal with which he participated and was awarded in the 1939 competition for the equestrian statue of Georgios Karaiskakis, completed in 1963.
