Autumn visit and tour of the vineyard

The iconic sculpture of\u00a0George Zongolopoulos\u2019 iconic sculpture \u201cThe Four Seasons,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>was acquired at an auction by the couple\u00a0Skoura<\/strong>\u00a0a few years ago, becoming ever since a beloved piece of their important private collection.
With the desire for this sculpture to be artistically reproduced under the Foundation\u2019s supervision in a larger scale, in order to become a landmark for the Estate, the\u00a0Georgios Skouras<\/strong>\u00a0got in contact with the\u00a0George Zongolopoulos Foundation<\/strong>.\u00a0

The request was studied and the creation of the work was carried out in a suitable size (7.90\u00d71.50\u00d72.85 m) for the intended location. The reconstruction was undertaken by the artistic workshop of Messrs.\u00a0Leonidas & Stelios Gikas.<\/strong>, an atelier that has created numerous sculptural works of Giorgos Zongolopoulos while the great artist was still alive. At the beginning of last summer, the sculpture was installed at Skoura Estate, since then becoming a landmark of the winery.\u00a0

Within the framework of the inaugural event and the unveiling of the sculpture installation, the art historian and collaborator of the\u00a0George Zongolopoulos Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0Mrs.\u00a0Iris Kritikou<\/strong>, will present the sculpture and speak about the artist.

The artwork consists of four umbrellas, the most recognizable motif of Giorgos Zongolopoulos, while the famous umbrellas of the sculptor are colorized to symbolize the four seasons of the year, but also allegorically, the four phases\/ages of human life (child, teenager, adult, elderly).<\/p>\r\n

\u039f\u03b9\u00a0The \"Four Seasons\"\u00a0<\/strong>They constitute the first sculpture in which, in 1993, Giorgos Zongolopoulos used color for the first time on his steel perforated umbrellas, presenting it at the\u00a0Venice Biennale<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
The second time that Giorgos Zongolopoulos\u2019 umbrellas were colored was in the 25-meter-tall sculptural installation\u00a0\u201cAtrium\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>which is located at Syntagma Square.<\/p>\r\n
