\"\"The sculpture is made from Cor-ten metal alloy (from which its secondary name is derived), which Zongolopoulos specifically brought from France for the creation of this particular sculpture.<\/p>\n

Cor-ten, which mainly consists of steel and copper, is a durable material resistant to atmospheric corrosion without requiring special protective paint or application of anti-rust coatings.<\/p>\n

This particular metal alloy, when exposed to the environment, forms a natural anti-corrosive patina on its surface. It develops an initial oxidation layer that does not penetrate into the deeper layers of the metal and simultaneously provides the necessary protection to prevent further corrosion of the material.<\/p>\n

Cor-ten acquires a dark brown hue that stabilizes over time, giving the material a distinctive aesthetic that resembles primitive, raw materials.<\/p>\n
