Chrysostomos Mousmoulidis

Solo exhibition with paintings and installation

Curated by Vivi Vasilopoulou

under the aegis of the George Zongolopoulos Foundation

The Hellenic American Union in collaboration with the Hellenic American College (HAEC) and Technohoros Art Gallery re-introduce to the public the solo exhibition of Chrysostomos Mousmoulidis ''...Attempts to numb the pain…”  at the Kennedy Gallery of the Hellenic American Union (22 Massalias Str., Athens). The exhibition is curated by Vivi Vassilopoulou and is held under the aegis of the George Zongolopoulos Foundation, it includes paintings and installations.

Chrysostomos Mousmoulidis creates arks of fragmentary moments, filled with sensitivity, re-using canvases and frames from previous works that bear testimony to an earlier self. He combines these (stitches together) to create new works, in which many older ones lie concealed. In some of these new works, hidden behind the bold stitches and patches of a self and a past that opens wounds he seeks to heal, are poems, attestations of his psyche. Each work is a silent cry of anguish and a place of refuge for the artist.

The exhibition includes paintings and installations and will last from Wednesday 17 June until Saturday 11 July 2020.

Priority is given to the protection of public health and safety, in the building of the Hellenic American Union and in the exhibition space, the instructions for avoiding overcrowding are followed and the preventive measures against the dispersion of COVID-19, which have been set by EODY and the competent Ministries.
