OPEN-AIR MUNICIPAL GLYPTOTHEQUE OF PSYCHIKO
GEORGE ZONGOLOPOULOS SQUARE
THE FIRST IN GREECE!


On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, H.E. the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, inaugurated the "Open-Air Municipal Glyptotheque of Psychiko" at the George Zongolopoulos Square.

George Zongolopoulos' vision about sculpture in the public space received flesh and bones in this open-air museum, created through the collaboration of the Municipality of Filothei-Psychiko and the George Zongolopoulos Foundation.
The special cultural value of the Open-Air Municipal Glyptotheque of Psychiko, the first in its kind in Greece, was indicated both from the hosts and the President of the Hellenic Republic as well, who, on the occasion of the placement of the bronze sculpture "Zalongo", of which an original copy is located in the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic noted: "It is the first sculpture that our guests -and especially the Heads of States- see when they come on an official visit to the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic. I am glad that this work that symbolizes much, the work of George Zongolopoulos, "teaches" everyone who enters the Presidential Residence our Greece."
